Wasteland reluctants

An illustration I made about a future Europe around the year 2099, set in my personal project: the Shared World.

Here, a few people are holding on to wasted lands. In these regions devastated by ecological disaster and extreme weather events, the shared World chart does not allow humans to settle. It's a freely evolving natural reserve, but nobody cares about a few reluctants.

I was inspired by "the lady of Norilsk", a photograph of a woman walking in the windy and snowy street of this over-polluted Russian city.

technique: This is a test picture on how to use generative tools. I have started with painting plus Stable diffusion on early stages to get the general mood, painting again, then process with magnicic to bring some details, then final rework on the picture.
